If you keep a close eye on haircare, you’ve probably come across Sea Salt Spray. Known as a pre-styling essential, this spray amps up your look, giving hair a natural, voluminous, and soft texture. Not only does it tame flyaways, but it also preps your undercut to hold the perfect style with ease.
For those rocking the undercut, adding Sea Salt Spray before blow-drying makes all the difference. It gives you control, makes applying wax easier, and leaves your hair looking effortlessly voluminous. Yet, in Vietnam, quality Sea Salt Sprays are rare and pricey. So, here’s a super easy, affordable DIY Sea Salt Spray that’s been my go-to lately. After a week of trying it myself, I’m hooked!
What You’ll Need:
Argan or coconut oil: 1/2 tablespoon (I grabbed Argan oil from Lazada, but pure coconut oil works too).
Himalayan pink salt: 1 tablespoon (found mine at L’s Place on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi).
Warm water: 200ml
Spray bottle: Available in most grocery stores.
Simply mix everything in your spray bottle, shake well, and you’re all set! Use it on damp hair post-wash or even on dry hair. I typically spritz 3–4 times evenly, then blow-dry. By the time I’m done, my hair’s cooperating as if I barely even need wax.
Pro Tip: Himalayan pink salt often comes with a built-in grinder. Use it to get a finer texture for easy mixing.
Both Argan and coconut oil add moisture, repair damage, and shield hair from heat and UV rays, effectively giving this spray heat-protectant properties. Himalayan pink salt, packed with essential minerals, also nourishes the hair and gently exfoliates the scalp.
