Looking stylish doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Here are some handy tips I've picked up from friends, the internet, and my own experiences. These style hacks will help you effortlessly maintain your personal look.
Belts Are Not Always Necessary
Many people think they need to add as many details as possible to look stylish. But the more colors and intricate details, the higher the likelihood of a fashion failure.
I'm not saying that belts are overly complicated - they are a basic accessory for men. But in reality, belts are just decorative. Your pants should always fit well on their own. Try ditching the belt, and you won't have to worry about matching your shoes and belt anymore. Your overall outfit will look more cohesive without that "barrier" between your upper and lower body.
You "want" a belt in your outfit, but you don't "need" one 😁
Less is more.
Clean White Sneaker Laces
No matter how clean your white sneakers are, neglecting the laces can ruin the look. Clean laces alone can make it impossible for anyone to call your shoes dirty.
Remove the laces, soak them in soapy water or a specialized sneaker cleaner for about 10-15 minutes, then scrub them clean. It's simple, but many guys are just too lazy to take the laces out when cleaning their shoes 😅
Rolling Up Sleeves
Rolling up your sleeves is the simplest way to take your look from polished and sophisticated to relaxed and casual.
But don't roll them too high, or you'll look like you're about to wash dishes. The most reasonable formula for most people is not to roll them up more than three times (including the cuff fold). The sleeve should end up between your elbow and wrist.
Fixing Shoulder Hanger Marks
This is what people call having "extra ears" on your shoulders. This happens when you hang heavy garments like sweaters or polo shirts, especially on hangers that are smaller than your shoulders - it's a disaster.
Put the shirt on, dampen the stretched fabric a bit, and gently "massage" it with your fingertips until the fabric feels soft and smooth. Keep wearing it until it dries before heading out. From now on, fold your sweaters neatly like T-shirts and store them in your closet instead of hanging them 😕
"Decluttering" Your Wardrobe
A packed wardrobe, but you still look at it every morning and sigh: "I have nothing to wear." That's because you have too many choices. It's time to declutter and only keep the items you actually wear daily!
Start by turning all your hangers in one direction. Every time you take something out to wear, turn the hanger the opposite way. After washing, hang it back on the hanger facing the opposite direction from the rest. After about a month, you'll know which items you frequently wear. You'll be surprised 🤣
