With a name as clear as their mission, The Breton Shirt Co specializes in creating beautiful Breton shirts. Their cotton is thick yet softens with each wear, ensuring a comfortable, long-lasting fit.
Armor Lux
A true veteran in the world of Breton shirts, Armor Lux has been around since the 1930s. They continue to craft the quintessential Breton shirt. In France, three brands are famous for their authentic Breton shirts: Armor Lux (1938), Saint James (1889), and Orcival (est. 1939). Armor Lux, however, holds a prestigious place in the Breton world. Despite many challenges, they’ve maintained their production in Brittany, the birthplace of the iconic shirt.
ISTO.
ISTO. is a standout among the newer generation of brands, known for its commitment to sustainable production. They carefully manage everything from material sourcing to environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. While they currently offer only three Breton styles, each is thoughtfully designed and impeccably crafted in terms of cut and stitch.
CDG Play
CDG Play, a branch of Comme des Garçons, brings you casual wear like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Their Breton shirts are incredibly comfortable and a must-have 🥹. The standout feature of CDG Play’s Breton shirts is the iconic heart-shaped embroidered logo on the left chest. Plus, they offer a unique collar treatment that deviates from traditional designs, giving these shirts a fresh twist.
Sunspel
Sunspel has built a reputation in the menswear world for its high-quality basics, often crafted from pima cotton, a premium variety known for its long fibers that create an incredibly soft feel. Although Sunspel’s pieces come at a premium price, they are undeniably worth the investment. Their Breton shirts feel like they melt into your skin, truly 🥲.
