There’s a saying I really like: “You don’t need a big budget to be stylish.” Over the years, my passion for fashion has shown me that, with a bit of creativity and a good eye, even second-hand clothes can make you look sharp and unique.
Here, I’ve put together a list of outfit combinations using basic items that most of us already own. This is for the guys who often ask me for advice on how to dress better or mix and match their pieces. I hope you find some inspiration in these suggestions! 🙂
Long-Sleeve Shirt + Shorts
For those slightly cool days, this combo is spot-on. Shorts keep things casual, while the long-sleeve shirt adds a touch of sophistication for a perfectly balanced look.

Just make sure the shirt isn’t too formal or stiff. Stick with more relaxed fabrics like lightweight cotton or linen, and pair it with chino or khaki shorts. Rolling up the sleeves is a stylish way to finish off this laid-back yet refined outfit.

Polo Shirt + Chino Pants + Loafers

This look is reminiscent of a breezy Mediterranean getaway. The polo shirt should fit snugly, especially around the biceps, and the hem should fall just 2-3 cm past your waistband, giving you room to show off a sharp belt.

For the pants, slim or straight-fit chinos will work. Don’t forget to cuff them for an extra touch of style, and complete the outfit with a pair of loafers for that clean, effortless vibe.
Blazer + T-Shirt + Jeans

This is one of my personal favorites. If you’re not into wearing a full suit but still want to look sharp, throw on a blazer with a well-fitted crew neck t-shirt and a pair of jeans - dark wash or light wash with a subtle fade both work great.

Finish the look with a leather belt and a pair of sneakers, brogues, or Chelsea boots, and you’re good to go.
Blazer + Dress Shirt + Chino Pants

The preppy look never goes out of style. It’s versatile enough for a night out or the office. Focus on coordinating the colors - navy blazers pair well with beige chinos, while a black blazer goes great with gray chinos.

Stick to classic dress shirt colors like white, light blue, or light pink for an easy, timeless look.

Leather Jacket + T-Shirt + Jeans

For a rugged, effortless style, you can’t go wrong with this combo. A biker jacket paired with a plain white tee and black skinny jeans is a tried-and-true look. Black Chelsea boots or simple sneakers like Converse complete the outfit.

For variety, swap the leather jacket for a bomber jacket, and you’ll still nail that rugged vibe.

Leather Jacket + Dress Shirt + Dress Pants
For a look that’s equal parts sharp and bold, this outfit is ideal. The dress shirt and pants give off a formal vibe, but the leather jacket adds an unexpected edge.

Top it off with derby or oxford shoes, and for the extra-confident, a slim-fit tie will really elevate the style.

Crew Neck Sweater + Dress Shirt
On a windy day, this is a classic and polished choice. Go for a lightweight sweater in neutral tones like black or gray, which will pair well with any dress shirt.

Cardigan + Dress Shirt

Similar to the crew neck sweater, but with a more relaxed feel. Button up the cardigan and tuck in the shirt for a smart look, or leave it unbuttoned for a more laid-back, jacket-like effect. Whether you tuck in the shirt or not is up to you.

Denim on denim
Pulling off a double denim look is a great way to create a fresh and energetic outfit. Just make sure the tones of the denim shirt and jeans contrast enough to keep the look dynamic - like pairing a light-wash shirt with dark or black jeans.

These are just a few easy outfit combinations to help you up your style game. With a little creativity, there’s no limit to the fresh looks you can create.
