Wardrobe Woes: What to Do When You Feel Like You Have "Nothing to Wear"

Sound familiar? "I have nothing to wear!" We’ve all been there, staring blankly at our wardrobe in despair. And believe it or not, it's not just a "women’s thing" - men feel it too, especially once they start caring about their look.

Here are a few ideas that might help you out of the style slump. Of course, everyone’s got their own taste, so I’ll keep it classic with pieces most guys already own. Let’s dive in and beat those uninspired days!

Got a Cardigan?

On warmer days, a go-to for me is layering a T-shirt, a casual shirt, and topping it with a cardigan. If you haven’t discovered how versatile a cardigan can be, you’re missing out! Whether it’s over a V-neck or round-neck T-shirt, a cardigan adds a polished edge without the restriction of a pullover.

You can rock it either buttoned or unbuttoned - I prefer leaving mine open, giving it a jacket-like vibe.

Plain Black or Dark Indigo Jeans/Chinos

Let's talk bottoms. A pair of black or dark indigo jeans or chinos can anchor just about any look. Pair these with lace-up boots, Chelsea boots, or your favorite sneakers, and you’re halfway there.

Now just pick your top! Whether it’s a sweater, T-shirt, or shirt, you can layer up with a bomber, denim, or rugged leather jacket for some added flair.

Blazer + Jeans Combo

Keep it simple but classy with a basic blazer. Stick with a two-button, well-fitted style in navy, gray, or beige, and throw it over jeans for a timeless vibe.

Opt for darker jeans - ideally a slim fit with a slight fade. Pair with a white T-shirt or a button-down shirt with the top couple of buttons left open for a relaxed but polished finish.

Men in Black

The all-black look never gets old. It’s simple, sharp, and brings a touch of mystery when done right. Black is naturally sleek, so focus on fit - neither too tight nor overly loose.

Play with different shades: mix dark gray, charcoal, and jet black to add depth. For example, team black jeans with a charcoal sweater, layer a light gray shirt underneath, and throw on a black leather jacket. Top it off with polished black shoes, and you’ve got a look that’s effortlessly cool.

Swap with Your Best Buds

Here’s one for a bit of fun - try swapping clothes with a friend. Find a friend with a similar size and style, and agree to take good care of each other’s gear.
