In the vibrant world of Instagram, talented artists often find their audience, and that’s exactly what happened with Mr. Slowboy. At 36 years old, his illustrations boast a whimsical style reminiscent of comic books, yet they carry an undeniable maturity that enchants anyone with a passion for fashion.
Fei Wang, the man behind the moniker Mr. Slowboy, hails from Beijing, China. He pursued his studies in Singapore and the UK before landing a role as a Creative Director at an advertising agency in the US. Despite the stable career, Fei felt unfulfilled, and his dream of becoming a fashion illustrator intensified. One day, he took the plunge, leaving behind his steady job to embark on his creative journey in London - thus, Mr. Slowboy was born.

Simplicity with Impressive Detail.

Mr. Slowboy: A Stylish Take on Seersucker Fabric.
Mr. Slowboy possesses a remarkable ability to encapsulate characters and moods with a minimalist approach that doesn’t skimp on detail. Using only watercolors, gouache, and colored pencils, his illustrations come alive with meticulous representations of fabrics and patterns, capturing every nuance from buttons to a scarf caught in a breeze. Fei himself embodies his art, sporting a keen appreciation for Classic, Sartorial, and Ivy League styles.
Encouraged by friends and colleagues to share his insights on men's fashion, Fei initially contemplated starting a blog. However, as writing wasn’t his strong suit, he opted to communicate through his illustrations instead. Just four months after posting his first drawings, he caught the eye of an editor from Esquire China, who invited him to create illustrations for London Fashion Week. Since then, Fei has collaborated with an impressive array of brands, including Suitsupply, Drake’s, Alfred Dunhill, Barbour, Hackett, Fox Brothers, and many more.

As for his name, Fei embraces the term "Slowboy" for a couple of reasons. He admits to being slow in many aspects - whether it’s taking his time with tasks or being the last to catch his friends' jokes. The term also reflects his philosophy on "Slow fashion," where he appreciates classic styles and believes that being slightly behind current trends can be a blessing.
