Fashion inspiration can come from various sources, whether it's the iconic looks of famous musicians, athletes, or standout advertising campaigns from luxury brands. Yet, the most potent catalyst for style often lies at the intersection of fashion and film.

Tom Ford's directorial debut, A Single Man, triggered a significant trend, leading fashion houses to rush out collections featuring slim-fit suits reminiscent of those seen on screen. More recently, Ryan Gosling made waves in Drive with his striking scorpion-embroidered jacket, a fashion moment that echoed through 2011 and 2012. Gosling further impressed with his character Jacob Palmer in Crazy, Stupid, Love, flaunting an incredibly stylish wardrobe. And who could overlook the Belstaff overcoat that became a hallmark of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC's modern adaptation of Sherlock?

These examples encapsulate the "magic" of cinema. A character with a distinctive, stylish persona leaves an indelible mark on the audience. The films set to debut in 2015, highlighted here, also aspire to enchant viewers with their impeccably dressed casts, suggesting that this year's fashion trends may well spring from the silver screen.

Inherent Vice

Transporting us to 1970s Los Angeles, complete with sunny skies and palm trees, Inherent Vice features Joaquin Phoenix as a drug-fueled detective, joined by a stellar cast including Benicio Del Toro, Reese Witherspoon, and Josh Brolin.

The film's wardrobe boasts a relaxed, bohemian vibe, featuring plaid shirts with buttons undone, denim jackets, and classic suits in rich caramel and navy shades.

Legend

Tom Hardy's portrayal of the notorious Kray twins is one of the most anticipated performances, with many eager to witness his dual role. Legend is also a must-see for vintage fashion lovers, showcasing British gangster attire from the 1950s and 60s. Hardy's imposing figure takes on an even more "dangerous" flair in double-breasted suits, trench coats, shiny tie clips, and slicked-back hairstyles that exude authority.
