As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to look back at the standout moments and trends in men's fashion - from the big names making moves to the styles that stole the spotlight.

In 2015, we saw everything from oversized sweatshirts to bold, pattern-heavy suits. This year brought in some exciting trends, so let’s break down the highlights: the hottest shoes, the pants to wear, the jacket styles, and much more. Ready? Let’s dive in. 😎

Ralph Lauren Steps Down as CEO

A major shakeup in the fashion world occurred when Ralph Lauren, the mastermind behind Polo, stepped down as CEO in November. Despite the change in leadership, don’t expect any drastic shifts in the brand's direction.

Even after stepping down, Lauren will stay involved as Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer. His calm and collected statement reflects his confidence: “When they start designing things I don’t understand, I’ll let go. But I don’t feel the need to step back, at least not now.” Classic Ralph.

The Sneaker Explosion

2015 was a turning point for high-end sneakers. Brands like Common Projects, Maison Margiela, Filling Pieces, and Axel Arigato surged in popularity, standing side by side with classics like Adidas Stan Smiths, Converse Chuck Taylors, and Vans Authentics. The result? A new era of sneakers - versatile, sleek, and ready to pair with any look.

Harry Styles: Fashion Icon in the Making

2015 was a defining year for Harry Styles. The One Direction star brought bold fashion choices to the forefront with his fearless use of patterns and colors.

While his style might be too daring for some, I say hats off to him for owning his look and confidently mixing textures and hues without ever going overboard. A true style risk-taker!

Turtlenecks Are Back

1200x-1

Once a symbol of understated cool, the turtleneck made a big comeback in 2015. From "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" to Drake in the "Hotline Bling" video, the turtleneck was everywhere.

Today’s version is sleek and modern, often paired with suits or leather jackets for a more refined look than the casual combo of the past.

Kanye West and Yeezy: The Power of the Brand

When Kanye speaks, the world listens - and buys. Kanye West’s Yeezy collection was all the rage in 2015, thanks to its military-inspired, oversized, rugged aesthetic. Whether it was a $2,000 sweatshirt or a pair of $550 Duck Boots, people couldn’t get enough of Kanye’s vision.

The man has truly mastered the art of making fashion synonymous with status. 💥

Comfort Becomes Key

After years of tight-fitting garments, 2015 was a year where comfort took center stage. Loose, relaxed silhouettes dominated, with brands like Acne and Harris Wharf pushing for easy-to-wear, soft jackets.

Trousers with elastic waistbands and wide legs also made a huge comeback, embracing both comfort and style.

Streetwear Takes It Up a Notch

Streetwear has always been a staple of simplicity, but in 2015, it got an upgrade. Supreme led the charge with high-end materials like Angora wool and Italian Loro Piana fabrics, elevating the streetwear game.

At the same time, Brendon Babenzien’s new brand, Noah, brought in premium materials like cashmere and Japanese flannel, bringing streetwear to new heights.

Genderless Fashion Breaks Boundaries

2015 saw significant strides in genderless fashion. Acne Studios made headlines with their ad campaigns featuring an 11-year-old boy wearing high heels and a pink coat. The brand also introduced oversized sweatshirts with feminist slogans like "Gender Equality" and "Radical Feminist."

Retailers like Selfridges even opened their first "gender-neutral" store in London, where you could shop without the constraints of traditional gender labels.

Lemaire x Uniqlo: Affordable Luxury

French designer Christophe Lemaire, known for his dreamy, high-fashion creations, teamed up with Uniqlo to bring minimalist luxury to the masses. The collaboration was a game-changer, earning praise as Uniqlo’s best partnership since their +J collection with Jil Sander. This collection made it possible to get a taste of Lemaire’s refined style without breaking the bank.

It’s no surprise that the Balmain x H&M collaboration took the world by storm in 2015. With H&M’s history of successful designer partnerships, it was expected to be a hit. Balmain’s high-fashion edge paired with H&M’s affordable pricing made this collection a must-have.
