Hey guys, by popular demand (and a few good-natured threats), I’m back with the third installment in this series. I’m genuinely thrilled that so many of you have been following along and enjoying it - big thanks to all of you!
As a rule, I only write a new review once I’ve tested five products thoroughly. Since Part 2, I’ve been gifted a couple of items from Hanz de Fuko, received Original by Blumaan from 91S Store (which I’ve already covered in detail), and picked up a few others myself. But, let’s be real, sometimes laziness gets the best of us... So without further ado, here’s Part 3!
Schwarzkopf OSiS Dust It
Schwarzkopf, the German giant, is a classic name in the world of personal care, with everything from shower gels to hair gels (anyone remember Taft?). My standout product from them has to be Osis Dust It.

Osis Dust It is different from your usual hard wax or gel - it’s a powder. Styling with Dust It is as simple as dusting your hair at the roots, like adding salt to a dish. Just sprinkle and style. I discovered Dust It before I got into Hanz de Fuko’s Quicksand, and both are similar in that they absorb moisture, leaving hair matte and natural-looking. However, Dust It is perfect for short, textured looks, while Quicksand is a win for modern pompadours and quiffs.
As for hold? One beach day is all the proof you need. I used Dust It, swam for two hours, and after drying off, my hair was still holding up! The only downside? This powder’s grip can feel a bit too intense if you’re not careful when styling.

Hanz de Fuko Quicksand
Quicksand from Hanz de Fuko has a similar dry, matte effect as Osis Dust It but in a wax form. Imagine gritty sand - just a tiny dab is all you need for fantastic texture and volume, especially if your hair tends to get oily.

With my thicker hair, Quicksand keeps it styled all day. That said, it’s better for softer, flexible styles rather than super-tight looks. I use it in combination with Hanz de Fuko’s Claymation, which gives me the ideal volume for my style.
Bonus: Quicksand has an amazing scent, with notes of pandan and a hint of vanilla. You can even use it as a dry shampoo!

Hanz de Fuko Gravity Paste
Disappointed! Gravity Paste, the latest from Hanz de Fuko, didn’t live up to the hype. It’s sticky and clumpy, and while it gives some shine, it fails on volume and hold. After 15 minutes, it’s like my style disappears. Maybe it’s more suited to softer hair types?

The one redeeming factor? Its minty scent. Otherwise, Gravity Paste was a letdown.

Original by Blumaan
If you have longer hair or prefer classic styles, Blumaan’s Original is a solid choice, with good hold and decent volume. For my own use, I apply a small amount to damp hair, blow-dry, and then finish with a bit more to set the style.

Original by Blumaan isn’t perfect at holding up under a helmet, though. After 20 minutes, the volume holds, but the texture starts to break down a bit. Still, for shorter, tousled looks, Blumaan’s easy grip and natural finish make it worthwhile.

Lavett & Chin Sea Salt Texturising Mist
Sea salt sprays are usually easy to DIY, but I wanted to give this one from Lavett & Chin a try. It does the job, adding a touch of grit and texture, and works well as a foundation before using wax. The scent, though, is where Lavett & Chin shines, with a subtle mix of rose and orange that’s genuinely refreshing.
