Here are a few personal lessons I’ve learned through plenty of trial and error. The key takeaway? Don’t let clothes overwhelm or control you. Your natural look and comfort are what truly bring your outfit to life. So relax and don’t overthink it!
Don’t Waste Time Trying to Define Your Style
One of my all-time favorites is the classic Breton striped shirt. It’s incredibly versatile and easy to mix and match with various outfits.
A blend of classic, smart-casual, minimalist, and preppy styles - it's a little bewildering how many people feel the need to label their fashion sense. After all, it’s really about personal expression. Take the Pompadour hairstyle, for instance. It’s never identical for everyone since each person tweaks it to fit their face, habits, and personal taste.
Comfort is Key
While everyone loves a compliment on their style, true fashion must come with comfort to be genuinely beautiful. I always prioritize versatility in my wardrobe - clothes that are suitable for both work and leisure, and, of course, weather-appropriate too.
Suits Aren’t That Intimidating
To be honest, I own a few suits, but I rarely wear them as full sets. Unless there's a strict dress code, I usually mix a blazer with different types of pants. A suit can be worn in many ways: pair it with a t-shirt or mix and match the pieces; there’s no need to stick to the full suit. The modern approach to tailoring has become much more casual and accessible.
Shop Responsibly
White sneakers are a worthwhile investment if you're looking for a versatile pair of shoes to match various outfits.
Scoring a bargain isn’t always a victory. Cheap items often don’t last and can quickly end up in the trash - which doesn’t sound so cheap after all, does it? Focus on investing in quality materials and timeless designs; these are the pieces that will remain in your wardrobe for years to come.
